Hopes were raised when near perfect conditions in late summer delivered a hugely concentrated harvest. Then, during en primeur week the following March, the world's wine press declared 2000 to be "the greatest modern vintage in Bordeaux" (Wine Spectator) and a "phenomenal year" (Robert Parker) and the rest is history. Prices soared, and today it's near impossible to find a good value 2000, making this perfectly aged Fronsac such a remarkable find. Rich and ripe, with the benchmark concentration of its legendary vintage, it's brimming with dark, evolved fruit and smooth, integrated tannins, with notes of leather and liquorice.
