Then, during en primeur week the following March, the world's wine press declared 2000 to be "the greatest modern vintage in Bordeaux" (Wine Spectator) and a "phenomenal year" (Robert Parker) and the rest is history. Prices soared, and today it's near impossible to find a good value 2000, making this perfectly aged Fronsac such a remarkable find.
