The Wine
On a recent trip to Italy, our Buyer Davy mentioned to Scipione 'Papavero' Giuliani how much he loved decent Verdicchio. After a quick phone call from Scipi, Davy had an appointment with the team at Cantine Belisario, whose Verdicchio is widely regarded as among Italy's best. When Davy told them what he wanted, they said he could create his own blend from their cuves. Davy had to leave for the UK the next day, but Scipione kindly volunteered to create this gorgeous white. And thanks to the near perfect conditions of 2015, he had his choice of some amazing Verdicchio from top high altitude sites. A generous glug of late harvested fruit adds real depth of flavour to this delightful Italian. Great solo or with a range of salads and seafood.
