The Wine
Provence has an ideal climate for producing high quality, elegant rosé that has long been enjoyed by the many tourists the region attracts. Award winning Domaine de Pontfract lies not far from Brignoles, with vineyards on rocky limestone soil and excellent exposure to the sun. As a result the vines have to dig down deep for moisture, producing small, intensely flavoured grapes with good mineral complexity. Every year, the Bréban family supervise the viticulture on the estate and at harvest time bring in the grapes and vinify them at their family cellar close by. A characterful blend of local grapes, this elegant rosé is bursting with spiced summer fruits. Delicious solo, it is also superb with hot or cold seafood, chicken or herby quiche.
